Other musical projects [current and past] of our director, Miguel Heatwole:

Andsome Friends - an a cappella group performing original works by Miguel and by Ecopella-member Terry Clinton.

Solidarity Choir - our sister choir. For over 28 years they've performed songs of peace, freedom and national liberation from many parts of the world. Miguel led them for most of that time, until 2012.

The People Have Songs - 150 minutes of beautifully produced songs. Over forty artists from the Sydney folk scene at the turn of this century give their best solos, duets, and choruses.

Triantán - a vocal trio whose harmonies blend Gaelic and English to leave an unforgettable impression of the richness of traditional Celtic life.

Behind The Wire - a compilation of appropriate songs from various artists, assembled as a benefit for asylum seekers persecuted by the Australian government.

Reynardine - an album of scintillatingly intelligent songs written by Bill Bostle. The vocals are Miguel's.

An incomplete list of organisations whom we've given benefit concerts or otherwise sung for. See also our 'gigs' page:

Frontline Action On Coal - in 2014 we joined the blockade of Whitehaven's coal mines at Maules Creek. Miguel and Dallas locked onto a gate and sang as they were arrested.

Australian Bush Heritage - our 2007 Trees Can't Talk event raised about $600 for this.

The Wilderness Society- our 2009 Trees Can't Talk was also a launch for our second CD.

Other singing groups with whom we share common repertoire or members:

Solidarity Choir - our sister choir. For over 30 years they've performed songs of peace, freedom and national liberation from many parts of the world.

Coco's Lunch - we're indeed grateful to this group for their beautiful song All The Wild Wonders.

Just Voices - an energetic community choir based in Ottawa, Canada. We swapped some songs during Miguel's visit in 2008.

Loosely Woven - very glad to share our arrangement of Paul Spencer's Green Like Me with our fellow Sydneysiders...and our website host!

Songwriters' websites:

Paul Spencer - since Ecopella's foundation Paul has been the most prolific contributor to our repertoire. He as many more of his brilliant songs on his own site.

Tony Eardley - wrote Come Away With Me for us. Here are his other world-class songs - very, very highly recommended.

Christina Mimmocchi - a highly valued member of Ecopella in former years, and a gifted and original musician. Thanks for many fine arrangements, and the beautiful setting of Eroded Hills!

Frankie Armstrong - Legendary singer and voice teacher from England who gave humanity a Message From Mother Earth.

Peter Hicks - Sydney's loss is Tasmania's gain, but at least we've held onto this little patch of the Peter Hicks/Geoff Francis team!

Phyl Lobl - describes herself as a 'cultural maintainance worker' The Shannon Rise is a piece of culture we're happy to have around.

Leon Rosselson - English songwriter whose anti-nuclear songs Across The Hills and Sleep Well we have recorded and enjoy [if that's the right word] singing.

John Warner - is one of Australia's best writers in the folk tradition. Murrumbidgee Water is only one of the tremendous songs from Yarri Of Wiradjuri and John has many other fine albums to is credit.

Men With Day Jobs - mix melody, harmony and rhythm with stories, humour, audience involvement… and Not Paying Attention to normal performance conventions. They are the creators of Denial Tango.

Some of the folk festivals we've performed at over the years:

Gulgong Festival - "The town on the ten dollar note" if you can remember back to paper money! A beautiful historic gold rush town.

Cobargo Folk Festival - on the South Coast of NSW. Our director Miguel often leads a festival choir there.

Illawarra Folk Festival - held at Bulli showground in the Illawarra.

The National Folk Festival - one of the very best in the country! Takes place every Easter in Canberra. It's where we celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2008
